The Event Was The Largest In Recent History

On Friday, November 30th, Youngstown ushered in the holiday season with the 2018 Youngstown Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting in Downtown Youngstown. The parade was the largest in recent history, featuring nearly 60 entries, 30 floats/vehicles and 10 high school marching bands. Thousands line Federal Street and Central Square to watch the activities. The event also included a live musical performance by Youngstown’s own Josh Triplet, photos with Santa in 20 Federal Street, roasted chestnuts at Spruce, Youngstown Holiday Flea at DeYor, and free admission to Oh Wow! Children’s Center and the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center. The event was hosted by the City of Youngstown and Youngstown CityScape. Home Savings served as the title sponsor and also provided up to $1,500 to each band performing in the parade (as well as a cash prize for the top 3 bands). Other sponsors included Eastern Gateway Community College and Ohio Living – Park Vista.
