Bike Belmont 2024

The Building A Better Belmont Initiative will host its second annual Bike Belmont event on Sunday, May 19. This family friendly bike ride will have something for everyone! For the experienced rider, there is a 22-mile route from downtown to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, and for the community, there is a 10-mile ride from downtown to Churchill Giant Eagle.

• Encourage more significant participation in Bike Belmont by reducing or eliminating participants’ ride costs and celebratory meal costs.

• Create a development plan with input from residents, business owners, and customers.

• Implement a progression of strategies — debris removal, vacant land beautification and repurposing, abandoned sign removal, improved lighting, façade renovation, upgrading power lines, and new structure construction – to make the Belmont Corridor a choice place to live,
work, and shop.

Join us on May 19th, 2024  to experience a ride on Belmont and a delicious post-ride lunch at the B&O Station Banquet Hall and Spring Commons Park. Registration kicks off at 12:30 pm with the ride starting at 1 pm.

Last year, Bike Belmont attracted 75 riders. Among them were Liberty Township trustees, The Mayor of Youngstown, Youngstown City Council members, U.S. Congress staff members, and residents of Liberty, Youngstown, and neighboring towns. Business owners supported the initiative by donating water, snacks and celebratory cheers along the route.

The event received
extensive press coverage and kicked off more Building A Better Belmont events, including community clean-ups and small-business promotions on TV news and social media.

We anticipate 200 riders this year as Bike Belmont becomes a premier event to build a healthier community. Your support is critical to our success.

We have event T-shirts available for sale that can be ordered during registration
